Brandy Donaghy lives in Snohomish County with her family. She is a community organizer and volunteers with number of local, state, and national organizations in various areas, including disaster response/readiness, education, housing, advocacy and she serves her Everett church as a Trustee.
She is a First Gulf War Era US Navy Veteran, and credits her mother, who was a Registered Nurse and representative for her union, with instilling in her an ongoing commitment to public service.
Following her time in the military, Brandy was able to attend to college via a program currently called the Veterans Readiness and Employment Program, which provides access to job training and education for veterans with service-connected disabilities that require a change in vocation. She studied first at Bellevue College, then graduated with a Bachelors from UW Bothell in Business Administration, with a Management Information Systems Concentration.
Appointed to the WA House of Representative in 2021, Brandy served through the 2022 legislative session, passing bills related to public health and safety with bipartisan support.
Brandy first entered public office when serving as a Democratic Precinct Committee Officer. She has also supported her local party organizations by serving on both her Legislative District and County Executive Boards and numerous organizational committees.
